30-Year Treasury Yield Hits 24-Year High on Oct. 7

The U.S. 30-year Treasury yield — the annual return for lending to the government for 30 years — hit a fresh 24-year high on October 7, 2026, Reuters reported. It rose even as a strong 10-year auction calmed the wider selloff. In my view, that long-end pressure is what pushes up mortgages and corporate borrowing.
