Tesco Expects to Earn More This Year

Tesco now thinks it will make £3.15bn-£3.3bn this year. Its core profit for the first half rose 6.5% to £1.8bn, from selling £33.8bn of goods. On 8 October 2026, the UK shop chain said customers kept buying despite worries abroad. It is betting food shopping stays strong in the second half.
