Family Business Agrees to Buy Boots Shops

Wittington Investments, the Weston family's parent company, like a basket holding their businesses, has agreed to buy UK shop chain Boots for $8.9bn (£6.74bn). It still needs government approval and should close in Q1 2027. Boots has 1,800 shops and 50,000 workers, so new ownership could change local pharmacies and high streets.
