
France stops using loud grenades on student protesters after teens hurt
France ordered police to stop using stun grenades, loud devices that scatter crowds with a bang, at student protests. Interior Minister Laurent Nunez announced it Oct. 7 on RTL after two teenagers were injured and 18 investigations into conduct opened. It comes before Prime Minister Lecornu addresses nation on school funding protests drawing hundreds of thousands since late September 2026.
