France halts stun grenades at student protests after teen injuries

France suspended police use of stun grenades, loud devices used to break up crowds, at student protests. Interior Minister Laurent Nunez announced the order Oct. 7 on RTL after two minors were injured and 18 misconduct inquiries opened. It comes ahead of Prime Minister Lecornu's address on school funding protests that have drawn hundreds of thousands since late September 2026.
