Why UK Energy Bills Could Jump in January
UK families could pay up to £442 more a year for energy in January because of the Iran war, October 2026 forecasts say. The price cap, like a ceiling on charges, would rise 16% from October, Cornwall Insight says, bringing a typical gas-and-power bill to £1,999 in January 2027. The BBC reported a separate January forecast of a £276 rise.
