Iran War May Raise UK Energy Price Cap by £442 in January

British households could pay £442 more for energy in January because of the Iran war, forecasts from October 2026 suggest. Cornwall Insight, an energy consultancy, predicts a 16% rise from October, taking a typical gas-and-electricity bill to £1,999 a year in January 2027. The BBC cited a separate forecast of a £276 rise.
