Fire unions ask workplace referee to stop job-cut plan

The Professional Firefighters' Union and the Public Service Association have asked the employment referee that settles work disputes to urgently stop Fire and Emergency New Zealand's restructure plan, RNZ reported. The PSA says FENZ shared proposed job cuts before talking to staff, breaking its workplace agreement. FENZ restarted talks after the unions called for the plan to be dumped.
