Woman Charged After 7-Year-Old Girl Stabbed in Chicago

Chicago police say Shavon Gayden, 48, committed first-degree murder — intentionally killing 7-year-old Eddimar Hernandez-Chacon, stabbed Saturday in Chatham. The girl was declared dead at Comer children's hospital. Police announced the charge Sunday. Cook County's State's Attorney's office, the local lawyers who bring cases to court, will prosecute.
