Chicago Woman Charged With First-Degree Murder of 7-Year-Old

Shavon Gayden, 48, was charged with first-degree murder, an intentional killing charge, in the Saturday stabbing death of 7-year-old Eddimar Hernandez-Chacon in Chatham, Chicago police said Sunday. The girl was pronounced dead at Comer children's hospital. The Cook County State's Attorney's office is prosecuting the case.
