Author and Former Conservative Politician Jeffrey Archer Dies at 86

Jeffrey Archer died peacefully at home between writing sessions on Monday at age 86, publisher HarperCollins reported. Archer was an author who also worked as a Conservative politician — five years as an elected lawmaker in Parliament’s lower house, then as deputy chairman and with an appointed seat in the upper house. His books and politics may be judged separately.
