Lidl Sells More in Britain and Makes Bigger Profit

Lidl in Britain sold 10% more, topping £13bn for the year to February. Profit before tax — money left after bills — jumped 30% to £245.5m from £156.8m. Lidl says it spent £315m cutting prices and offering deals, while its fancier Deluxe foods rose 12%. More loyal shoppers could squeeze rival supermarkets on price and quality.
