Two birds might be the loudest in the world
Scientists say two birds may be the loudest in the world. Researchers at UMass Amherst report the bare-throated bellbird and red-legged seriema can both top 120 decibels, a unit for measuring sound. The bellbird hit about 131, as loud as a jackhammer. It lives in the Atlantic Forest in northeastern South America.
