Greens promise $4b for long-distance trains
The Green Party says it would spend $4 billion on long-distance trains if it wins the election, RNZ reported. The plan includes a night train between Auckland and Wellington, a Christchurch to Dunedin service, and extending the Te Huia train to Tauranga. Co-leader Marama Davidson and transport spokesperson Julie Anne Genter announced it on 3 October.
