Green Party promises $4b intercity passenger rail plan

The Green Party says it would spend $4 billion on intercity passenger rail if elected, including an overnight Auckland-Wellington service, a Christchurch-Dunedin link and extending Te Huia to Tauranga, RNZ reported. Co-leader Marama Davidson and transport spokesperson Julie Anne Genter announced the plan on 3 October.
