Israel Says 170 Killed Reporters in Gaza Were Fighters

Israel’s army posted an online file called “The Press Files.” It claims 170 Palestinians killed in Gaza and listed as reporters were really fighters for Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad, two Palestinian armed groups. Israel says it checked names against the groups’ own papers. The Committee to Protect Journalists, which defends reporters, shared its own count Sept. 24.
