Jobs grew more slowly in September
Employers added 29,000 jobs outside farming in September, down from 45,000 a month over the past year, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Oct. 2. Unemployment — people looking for work but without a job — held at 4.2%. I see hiring running slower, not stalled, which could ease pressure on paychecks and prices.
