
Carney picks Alberta-to-B.C. oil pipeline as first priority build
Prime Minister Mark Carney chose the Alberta-to-B.C. pipeline that would carry bitumen, a heavy oil from the oil sands, now called Pacific Link, as the first project of national interest under the Building Canada Act, a law to fast-track major builds. He announced it Oct. 1 in Fort McMurray with Premier Danielle Smith and Indigenous leaders.
