AI company asks Australia to use books and art to teach computers unless owners say no

Anthropic asked Australia's Albanese government to let its AI learn from books, songs and art by default, unless creators say no. The company says clear rules would help after Canberra said no to a broad permission to copy large amounts of material for computer study. Canberra has not agreed.
