Anthropic urges Australia to allow AI training on copyrighted works under opt-out system

Anthropic has urged Australia's Albanese government to allow AI training on copyrighted works by default, with rights holders able to opt out. The company says the conditional approval would provide legal certainty after Canberra ruled out a broad text-and-data-mining exception. Canberra has not agreed.
