A Satellite Used AI in Space to Send Smaller Error Reports

Satlyt put Google DeepMind's Gemma AI on a Momentus-run satellite earlier in 2026 to check software faults in space. By doing the work upstairs and sending home only a short summary, it cut the message size by over 60%, using less radio capacity. It was one of two trials of Satlyt's way to add AI to other firms' satellites.
