India Orders Apple to Pull Bitchat From Its Local App Store

Apple must remove Bitchat from its India App Store after an order under Section 69A of the IT Act, Jack Dorsey said October 3, 2026. The order came from India's Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. Apple said the decentralized Bluetooth-mesh chat app, which relays messages phone-to-phone without internet, stays available elsewhere, with TestFlight testing blocked in India.
