UK leader says rejoining European club is possible

Prime Minister Andy Burnham said 30 Sept. 2026 that rejoining the EU, the European club Britain left, is one idea for closer ties. On BBC's Today, he listed options from keeping things as they are to joining its customs union or single market, looser forms of shared trade. Officials will check what can work for a November UK-EU meeting.
