Mosque Wall Taken Down to Widen Road for Hindu Festival

Muslim volunteers in Ujjain began removing part of the Shahi Mosque in Chhatri Chowk to meet a road-widening order for the 2028 Simhastha Kumbh Mela, a Hindu pilgrimage held every 12 years. After talks and a court refusal to stop the work, the amount to be removed was cut to three feet from over seven feet.
