
New watchdog planned for firms that manage homes
Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner told Labour's conference the Government will make a law for an independent watchdog for property agents. Ministers said agents in England and Wales would need a licence. It would set standards and complaints rules and could ban rule-breakers. Ministers said it would protect about five million leaseholders, who own their flat but not the building.
