Top U.S. Judge Alito Steps Back From Colorado Climate Case

Justice Samuel Alito will sit out the Boulder, Colorado case against oil companies ExxonMobil and Suncor Energy, the court said in a letter Sept. 28, 2026, just before lawyers were set to argue in person. It gave no reason. The lawsuit claims the companies fooled the public about climate change.
