Alito Recuses Himself From Boulder Climate Case Against ExxonMobil and Suncor

Justice Samuel Alito recused himself Sept. 28, 2026, from the Boulder, Colorado climate case against Suncor Energy and ExxonMobil, days before oral arguments. The court letter said "Justice Alito has determined that he will not continue to participate in this case" without giving a reason. The suit alleges fossil-fuel companies deceived the public about climate change.
