America's long-term borrowing cost hits 20-year high
The U.S. government's 30-year borrowing cost hit its highest since 2004, Reuters reported Sept. 24. Think of yield as the interest Washington must pay to borrow. Strong U.S. data and soft demand when new debt was sold pushed it up. I'd watch home loans and other borrowing costs — they often follow higher.
