Shopify Lets AI Helpers Buy Things For You

Shopify said on September 28, 2026 its online stores can now let AI helpers finish purchases inside the shopper's web browser. It uses WebMCP, a shared method for websites to work with AI helpers, and works with Shop Pay. It is rolling out to all eligible stores. It builds on earlier WebMCP help finding products and filling carts.
