Shopify Lets Browser AI Agents Complete Checkout

Shopify on September 28, 2026 added checkout support to WebMCP, the standard that lets AI shopping assistants act inside a web page. Agents in the buyer's browser can now complete purchases directly on merchant storefronts, including with Shop Pay. The feature is rolling out to all eligible merchants. It extends earlier WebMCP support for product search and cart building.
