New North Korean mines may have caused border blast

South Korea's military leaders said Sept. 28 that early results from a joint check with the U.N. Command suggest newly hidden explosives caused the Sept. 21 explosion in the western DMZ, the border strip between the Koreas, that badly hurt three officers. It was 10 metres from land where North Korea allegedly placed mines. A final answer is to come.
