House Leaders Say White House Should Take Down Ad for Trump Paid With Tax Money

House leaders in charge of federal spending told the White House on Sept. 25 to immediately take down a tax-dollar-paid ad promoting President Donald Trump. They said it breaks Section 718 of Division E of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2026, a money law that bans such ads, according to a statement from House Appropriations Democrats.
