Israel Closes West Bank Crossings for Holiday Week

Israel closed West Bank crossings until Saturday for Sukkot, a Jewish holiday. Palestinians with permission to work in Israel or Israeli settlements cannot enter. Defense chief Israel Katz ordered it Sept. 28 after army advice. Only a few essential workers can enter West Bank factory areas. Roadblocks also stop Palestinian visits to two mosques, Al-Aqsa and Ibrahimi.
