Government to Take Over Avanti Trains in March

Avanti West Coast trains will be run by the UK government from March, when the private company's deal ends. Transport chief Heidi Alexander says the goal is better tracks, fewer delays, and a smoother ride on London-Manchester and Liverpool routes. The trains will pass to the government, not to another private firm.
