State housing agency drops 39-home Strathmore plan

Kāinga Ora, the Government's housing agency, has dropped its plan for 39 homes on Nuku Street in Strathmore, Wellington, RNZ reported. Regional director Sarah Willson said building state rentals there would cost too much. The plan was stopped in 2025 after a national rethink, with sale money to go to fixing up existing homes.
