Kāinga Ora scraps 39-home Nuku Street plan as unviable

Kāinga Ora has stopped its plan for 39 new homes on Nuku Street in Strathmore, Wellington, RNZ reported. Regional director Sarah Willson said building new social housing on the site was not financially viable. The agency said the plan was stopped in 2025 after its nationwide reset, with sale proceeds to go to its housing renewals programme.
