OpenAI's Astra solved a German wartime code message unbroken since 2005. Developer Carter Leffen asked the AI helper to find and decode it. Astra studied old records, spotted hints, and rebuilt the code machine in software to reveal the hidden text. Retired electrical engineer Frode Weirerud verified it, saying two days' work takes people weeks or months.
