Lawmakers and Jewish leaders call for action after synagogue attack

Jewish leaders and MPs — elected lawmakers from the Liberals and Conservatives — said in Ottawa on Sept. 24 that national and provincial governments must act against hatred of Jewish people. They pointed to the Sept. 20 hate attack at the Sons of Jacob synagogue in Belleville on Yom Kippur, a holy day for Jews. They also named universities.
