Senate Votes to Keep Troops in Iran Fight

The Republican-led Senate voted Sept. 24, 2026, to keep U.S. troops in the fight with Iran, 49 to 50. Four Republicans voted to bring troops home, while Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania was the only Democrat opposed. The House voted in July to bring troops home, 214 to 208.
