Senate Defeats Resolution to Remove U.S. Forces From Iran Fight, 49-50

The Republican-led Senate defeated a resolution to remove U.S. forces from hostilities with Iran on Sept. 24, 2026, by a vote of 49 to 50. Four Republicans supported the measure, while Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania was the lone Democrat opposed. The House had passed the resolution in July by 214 to 208.
