Google Tests an AI Helper That Calls Businesses for You

Google launched Call for Me, which lets Gemini, its computer helper, call businesses for you. It can check if something is in stock, book a restaurant table, move an appointment, or ask to hold an item. It introduces itself, follows phone menus, and waits on hold. Google calls it a test starting at small scale.
