Most Americans Worry Smart Computers Will Shrink Jobs

71% of U.S. adults think smart computer tools, like tireless assistants, will leave fewer U.S. jobs over the next 20 years, up from 64% in 2024, Pew Research Center reported Aug. 18, 2026. The survey asked about expectations, not actual hiring. To keep public backing for wider use, officials must show real jobs plans, not only promises of faster work.
