
Review says Covid money help stayed on too long
An independent review by Athanasios Orphanides and David Archer says the Reserve Bank was right to cut interest rates to 0.25% during Covid to support the economy. But it says help stayed too long, like leaving the heater on. The economy recovered faster than expected, and it took a year to turn support off.
