
Review finds Reserve Bank kept OCR at 0.25% too long after Covid
An independent review by Athanasios Orphanides and David Archer found the Reserve Bank's initial Covid-19 cut of the official cash rate to 0.25% was appropriate, but stimulus stayed too long. It says the economy recovered more strongly than expected and policy took a full year to adjust after stimulus achieved its result.
