Construction Accident Cut Internet Line and Delayed Flights

A construction crew in New Jersey accidentally cut a Verizon cable carrying internet and phone signals on Sept. 21, 2026. The line fed the air traffic center guiding planes around New York City and Philadelphia. Safety officials held incoming flights on the ground for hours at Newark, New York airports and Philadelphia until workers fixed the line.
