National wants more first-home buyers to qualify for low-deposit loans
National says that if re-elected it would raise the income limit for the First Home Loan scheme from $150,000 to $300,000 for households. That means buyers could get a home loan with just a 5 percent deposit. The current limits were set in 2022: $95,000 for a single buyer and $150,000 for couples or groups. Kāinga Ora runs the scheme.
