140 migrants reach UK in single boat from unusual Normandy route

About 140 migrants crossed the Channel overnight in one dinghy, launched from Normandy rather than the usual area near Calais, the BBC reported. French rescue boats followed the vessel for ten hours. Two British lifeboats then brought everyone ashore. France's coastguard said stopping the boat at sea was too dangerous. The Normandy starting point is 170 miles west of where migrants usually set off.
