Migrant dinghy carrying 140 launched from Normandy, 170 miles from usual Calais route

Around 140 migrants in a single dinghy launched overnight from the Bay of the Seine, roughly 170 miles west of the usual Calais-area departure points, the BBC reported. French rescue boats shadowed the vessel for ten hours before two RNLI lifeboats from Bembridge and Yarmouth brought the migrants ashore. The French coastguard said stopping the dinghy on the water was not safe. The Normandy departure point stretches the enforcement zone French and UK authorities patrol.
