NASA Launches Powerful New Telescope to Study the Universe's Biggest Mysteries

NASA launched the $4.3 billion Roman Space Telescope on August 30, 2026, aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket. It sees 100 times more sky at once than Hubble, letting it survey over 2 billion galaxies. Roman will study dark matter and dark energy — invisible forces making up 95 percent of everything, yet barely understood. It is heading to a stable orbit point called Lagrange Point 2.
