New Social Site Uses the Twitter Name While Court Case Continues

A startup called Operation Bluebird launched a social media site at Twitter.now on August 26, 2026. Elon Musk's X Corporation wants a court order to shut it down, arguing it owns the Twitter name. The startup says Musk gave up those rights when he renamed Twitter to X in 2022. A judge said in April he saw no evidence X still uses "tweet" or the bird logo. If the court sides with X, the site could be taken offline.
